About Us
RAY PETTITT
I have been involved in the financial services arena since leaving school in 1982, and began working as an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) in 1998. I hold the Diploma in Financial Planning, a member of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) and have committed to their stringent code of ethics and professional conduct.
I am married with two daughters, who are now embarking on their own careers and, until three years ago, I was a regular cricket player in Suffolk and Essex until many creaking joints decreed that my bat and pads should be moved to the further reaches of the garage where they sadly remain!
I was born in Bury St Edmunds before moving to East Suffolk in 1989 as part of an employment move. I have lived in Kesgrave since 1991.
I set up my own practice in January 2002 and my client list has grown steadily ever since. I normally work with clients over the long term, as most pensions and investments require ongoing advice.
I provide this continuous service based on the simple philosophy of always trying to do the best for my clients and I consider that financial education is vital. It is important to me that my clients fully understand what they hold financially.
I aim to be friendly, approachable, and try to convey matters in plain English by avoiding jargon.
How much do I charge?
The initial meeting is at my expense, at which point I normally give you accurate information about costs, depending on what work you are looking for. If the work involves setting up new contracts, or looking after your investments or pensions over the long term, fees can normally be deducted from the arrangements or you can pay separately as you wish.
